REVIEW
Wither (Chemical Garden, #1)

WITHER BY LAUREN DESTEFANO

March 22nd 2011 by Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing

What if you knew exactly when you would die?

Thanks to modern science, every human being has become a ticking genetic time bomb—males only live to age twenty-five, and females only live to age twenty. In this bleak landscape, young girls are kidnapped and forced into polygamous marriages to keep the population from dying out.

When sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery is taken by the Gatherers to become a bride, she enters a world of wealth and privilege. Despite her husband Linden's genuine love for her, and a tenuous trust among her sister wives, Rhine has one purpose: to escape—to find her twin brother and go home.

But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Linden's eccentric father is bent on finding an antidote to the genetic virus that is getting closer to taking his son, even if it means collecting corpses in order to test his experiments. With the help of Gabriel, a servant Rhine is growing dangerously attracted to, Rhine attempts to break free, in the limted time she has left.

My Soul to Steal (Soul Screamers, Book 4)

So not so many books this week.
If anyone has some good YA book recommendations I'd love to hear them. I'm having a major YA reading crisis right now and actually turning toward my adult books while my review books wait patiently on the shelves.-I'm looking for something unique, especially without the "instant we meet we are head-over-heels in love kind of thing" and "the best friend love triangle" (Please--no more of either of those for a long time!) I'm hoping that Wither is just what I need to get me out of my slump. But I'm open to suggestions and they don't even have to have supernatural elements!

What's in your mailbox?

Oh...I love your mailbox pic! So cute! ^_^ As for the mailbox....WITHER is suppose to be awesome (in my own TBR as well) and I've yet to try the Soul series myself, but have heard good things. As for suggestions, let's see (and pardon any repeats of what you might have read)....

WERELING by Steve Feasey
DEATH CLOUD by Andrew Lane
THE DEMON TRAPPERS DAUGHTER by Jana Oliver

All YA and all without the instant attraction or obvious love triangles. Hope you're over the reading slump soon...and thanks for sharing your great mailbox! Happy reading... ^_^

I really, really enjoyed reading Wither, Kim. Definitely no "instant we meet we are head-over-heels in love kind of thing" or "the best friend love triangle." I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. Happy reading =).
