Waiting on Wednesday:The Seven Rays by Jessica Bendinger

This weeks pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" is:

The Seven Rays
By: Jessica Bendinger
Reading level: Young Adult
Hardcover: 320 pages
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing (November 24, 2009)

About the Book -

"YOU ARE MORE THAN YOU THINK YOU ARE"

When seventeen year-old honors student Beth Michaels starts receiving gold envelopes with messages like, YOU ARE MORE THAN YOU THINK YOU ARE, she thinks that a crazy person might be stalking her. When she begins seeing people's thoughts, feelings, and personal histories on their electromagnetic fields, she thinks that she might BE a crazy person. When the hottest boy in town, Richie Mac, kisses and becomes obsessed with her, she KNOWS that she is a crazy person. But she can deal with all of that until her mom gets freaked out by her erratic behavior (what seventeen year old doesn't break through a glass window at a bookstore every once in a while?) and has her institutionalized. It is here, at the psychiatric institute, where Beth finds out that she was adopted under mysterious circumstances and that maybe all this craziness is real. Now all she has to do is break out of the psychiatric institute - with Richie's help - and go on a road trip to New York to discuver who she really is and why all this is happening to her ... except who are these people chasing her and what do they want? Is it possible that Beth might be more than she thinks she is?

DEEPAK CHOPRA on THE SEVEN RAYS:

"Jessica Bendinger's The Seven Rays takes you on a journey of mystery, magic, adventure and the intricacies of relationship and love. But there is a deeper significance to this story. It is about dormant potentials that lie deep within the domains of human consciousness and the field of infinite possibilities that we all have access to. Read this book, enjoy the adventure, be inspired, but also find that part of your being, where the paranormal becomes normal."

Great pick and the cover is beautiful!

Some of the plot reminds me a bit of Kelley Armstrongs YA trilogy - Darkest Powers.

I could see the similarities to the Kelley Armstrong trilogy..hmmm interesting point!
And Lenore- I wonder what the connection is with Deepak Chopra too.
