Waiting on Wednesday: Elixir by Hilary Duff

ELIXIR BY HILARY DUFF
October 12th 2010 by Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing

As the daughter of a renowned surgeon and a prominent Washington D.C. politician, Clea Raymond has felt the glare of the spotlight her entire life. And though she dreads the paparazzi who track her every move, she herself is a talented photojournalist who takes refuge in a career that allows her to travel to the most exotic parts of the world.

But after Clea’s father disappears while on a humanitarian mission, eerie, shadowy images of a strange and beautiful young man begin to appear in Clea’s photos—a man she has never seen in her life.

When Clea suddenly encounters this man in person she is stunned—and feels an immediate and powerful connection. As they grow closer, they are drawn deep into the mystery behind her father’s disappearance and discover the centuries-old truth behind their intense bond.

Torn by a dangerous love triangle and haunted by a powerful secret that holds their fate, together they race against time to unravel their past in order to save their future—and their lives.

I saw this on Eleni's blog at La Femme Readers. I was a little skeptical being that it was written by Hilary Duff, but she already acts and sings, why not writes too?! What do you guys think?

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event spotlighting upcoming releases we are highly anticipating. It is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

I'm usually hesitant to read books by celebs, but this one actually sounds interesting. I'll have to wait and see what others think before I decide to read it though.

This was my WoW pick from last week. I'm interested to see how good of a writer she is. Always liked her from her work with Disney!

hmmm, I'm not sure about this being written by a pop star, but it does sound interesting.

I'm surprised that this book actually seems good! I mean, I was obsessed with Hillary Duff when I was younger, but that doesn't mean that I think she can write! We'll have to see how it goes.

I really don't know. However when and if you get the book and write the review I might make a decision.:)

I really wish celebs would stop pretending to be writers. If they're good, that's one thing, but most just seem to want to do it "just because." Even if their story's not good, they'll probably get a lot of money off it and a lot of extra attention and that just irks me. The hard working writers who have to struggle to get published write just as well if not better.
