Book Beginnings Friday: Elixir by Hilary Duff

I COULDN'T BREATHE.

"Wedged in the middle of an ocean of people, I gasped for air, but nothing came. The heat from a million writhing bodies radiated over me, their sweat weighing down the air. I searched anxiously for an escape, but painfully bright lights strobed on and off, clouding my sense of direction."
- ELIXIR BY HILARY DUFF

Clea Raymond has felt the glare of the spotlight her entire life. The daughter of a renowned surgeon and a prominent Washington DC politician, she has grown to be a talented photojournalist who takes refuge in a career that allows her to travel to the most exotic parts of the world. But after Clea’s father disappears while on a humanitarian mission, Clea’s photos begin to feature eerie, shadowy images of a strange and beautiful man—a man she has never seen before.

When fate brings Clea and this man together, she is stunned by the immediate and powerful connection she feels with him. As they grow closer, they are drawn deep into the mystery behind her father’s disappearance, and they discover the centuries old truth behind their intense bond. Torn by a dangerous love triangle and haunted by a powerful secret that holds their fates, together they race against time to unravel their pasts in order to save their lives—and their futures.

I read (My Review) Elixir, pleasantly satisfied with the book. Although there is a ghost writer Elise Allen who isn't mentioned as much as Hilary herself... I'd like to read Elise's upcoming book as well(Populazzi)!

I'm currently reading The Duff. I'm 19 and I still see it as a bad influence for teens, I'm on page 107, not looking good in my opinion.

Forgot to present theopening of the book.
The Duff by Kody Keplinger.

Opening:
"This was getting old.
Once again, Casey and Jessica were making a complete fools of themselves, shaking their asses like dancers in a rap video. But I guess guys eat that s*** up, don't they? I could honestly feel my IQ dropping a I wonder, for the hundredth time that night, why I'd let them drag me here again."
