FOR REVIEW

Stay
STAY BY DEB CALETTI (April 5 2011)

Clara’s relationship with Christian is intense from the start, and like nothing she’s ever experienced before. But what starts as devotion quickly becomes obsession, and it’s almost too late before Clara realizes how far gone Christian is--and what he’s willing to do to make her stay.

Now Clara has left the city—and Christian—behind. No one back home has any idea where she is, but she still struggles to shake off her fear. She knows Christian won’t let her go that easily, and that no matter how far she runs, it may not be far enough....

Between Here and Forever

BETWEEN HERE AND FOREVER BY ELIZABETH SCOTT (May 24, 2011)

Abby accepted that she can’t measure up to her beautiful, magnetic sister Tess a long time ago, and knows exactly what she is: Second best. Invisible.

Until the accident.

Now Tess is in a coma, and Abby’s life is on hold. It may have been hard living with Tess, but it's nothing compared to living without her.

She's got a plan to bring Tess back though, involving the gorgeous and mysterious Eli, but then Abby learns something about Tess, something that was always there, but that she’d never seen.

Abby is about to find out that truth isn't always what you think it is, and that life holds more than she ever thought it could..

Sometimes It Happens
SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS BY LAUREN BARNHOLDT (July 12 2011)

On the last day of her junior year, Hannah's boyfriend Ryan dumped her. Facing a summer of loneliness, Hannah turns to her best friend Ava for comfort. Ava does what BFFs do: she stays by Hannah's side...until it's time for Ava to head up to Maine for the summer. Also left behind is Ava's boyfriend, Noah, who's such a great guy he gets Hannah a job at the diner he waits tables at. Slowly, Hannah comes out of her funk thanks to Noah's good conversation and their fun times at the diner.

But things get complicated when their friendship turns into attraction--and one night, into a passionate kiss. The novel opens on the first day of senior year; the day Hannah is going to see Ava, Ryan, and Noah all in one place. Over the course of the day secrets and betrayals are revealed, and alliances are broken and reformed. In the end, everyone is paired up once again, but not the way you might think...

BOOKS BOUGHT

 DeliriumWither (The Chemical Garden Trilogy)

What? No vampires, fairies or werewolves? Yes, 'tis true- I'm taking a break from all that (for now). The YA paranormal romance genre and I are not seeing eye to eye so it's time to take a step back.  I'm going to try some dystopian and realistic fiction.  All the paranormal books I've read lately have seemed the same to me -so much so, that they're all blending together in my head as the same book. I can't take anymore of the "instant love connection" that seems to become a genre requirement. Ugh! Also, it's SHEER agony to have to write negative reviews.

Anyways, I bought Wither because I enjoyed the ARC so much that I just had to pre-order the real deal. Now that's one review I'm looking forward to writing for a change! As for Delirium, I'm a big fan of Lauren Oliver's Before I Fall, so I'm really looking forward to diving into that as well.

Hope everyone got something special to read this week too. If not--treat yourself! It's been a long week and you deserve it. :)

You got some wonderful books, Kim! All of these are on my reading list and I'm super excited for them. I already read Wither and it was amazing. I, too, pre-ordered myself the hardcover version! And I'm totally with you on the instant love thing. It drives me completely crazy. Anyway, I will be looking forward to reading your thoughts on Wither. Happy reading, Kim! =D

I remember reading a book by Deb Caletti a few years ago! I saw it on the shelf not too long ago with a totally new cover. I think it's fun to see books like that still on the shelf after all these years and with new looks!

I love the cover for Between Here And Forever with the beautiful sunflower. I have't read anything my Elizabeth Scott yet though. I've also got Delirium to read as well and the cover for Wither is gorgeous. Dystopian and realistic fiction are becoming a more prominent presence in my reading habits too. I hope you enjoy them all :)
