Win a copy of Viola in the Spotlight by Adriana Trigiani!

Viola in the Spotlight (Viola, #2)

VIOLA IN THE SPOTLIGHT (Viola in Reel Life)
BY ADRIANA TRIGIANI

I am in the midst of a conundrum.

Viola is finally where she belongs—back home in Brooklyn, where there are no khakis or sherbet-colored sweaters and people actually think her yellow flats are cool. With two whole months of nothing to do but hang with her two best friends, Andrew and Caitlin, this is going to be the best break ever!
But her BFFAA, Andrew, has started acting weird around her, and a new boyfriend has her friend Caitlin ditching her every chance she gets. When Viola's roommates from Prefect Academy show up for a visit, she starts to wonder—is Brooklyn where she wants to stay? When a tragic event shakes everyone's world, Viola realizes it's not where she belongs that matters—it's who she's with that really counts.

Viola in Reel Life
In this heartwarming follow-up to bestselling author Adriana Trigiani's teen debut, Viola in Reel Life, Viola just may be ready to get out from behind her trusty video camera and take the starring role in her own life.

Adriana Trigiani is beloved by millions of readers around the world for her hilarious and heartwarming novels. She was raised in a small coal-mining town in southwest Virginia in a big Italian family. Trigiani chose her hometown for the setting and title of her debut novel, the critically acclaimed and bestselling Big Stone Gap, which was followed by the sequels Big Cherry Holler, Milk Glass Moon, and the fall 2006 release Home to Big Stone Gap. Lucia, Lucia, The Queen of the Big Time, and Rococo were all instant New York Times bestsellers Adriana also teamed up with her family for Cooking with My Sisters, which was cowritten by her sister Mary, with contributions from their sisters and mother. The cookbook-memoir features recipes and stories dating back a hundred years from both sides of their Italian-American family. Trigiani's novels have been translated and sold in over 30 countries around the world.

Lovely giveaway. :)

As for the question, I can't really answer that because I haven't left home. I haven't even traveled. Then again, I'm only (almost) 19 and I have quite a while to move out and get some traveling done. I know that since I've stayed in one place so long, I'm definitely going to miss it when that time comes and I have to move along.

Thanks for the giveaway. I actually never lived anywhere but my hometown. I did stay in Louisiana for 3 weeks and immensely missed TEXAS.

To answer the question yes Florida. I worked for Disney World and lived at Vista Way. The best year of my life! Who wouldn't miss being in Disney World everyday! I'm still in touch with all my international roommates and friends.

Uhm, I've actually been living in the same place since I was born, so I'm not homesick/lonely for anywhere.

I used to spend many weeks in the summer growing up at my Grandmothers up north. When ever I'm not able to visit for very long, I have to get in the car and go there as I miss it so much and her. The town of Lakeview is so small but so charming.

Yes! I have moved many times because I'm a military brat and I miss certain aspects of the different places I have lived.
I miss California's warm weather and being able to wear shorts and a tank top practically all year, Texas BBQ...umm, I don't really miss the other other places I have lived. :)

Thanks for the awesome contest.

Answer to the question: I am an armybrat, so I grew up everywhere. I lived all over the country and outside the country. I think every place I've lived has a little piece of my heart, and I miss each one a little bit.

I have lived in the same little town in New Hampshire my entire life (I'm 30), so I can't really say I have been homesick for a place. I can say that I am homesick for my first real house though. We lived there before my parents divorced and I have really good memories of that house. I hope to live there again one day.

+1 I lived in Wisconsin for 35+ years before moving to Florida in 2009. Like yourself, I miss the change of seasons, my parents, and the community I grew up with.

I've moved around a lot, but no place has ever felt much like home except for where I live currently-- Michigan. So, luckily I don't particularly miss any state or any city (I especially don't miss Florida and it's perpetually hot weather)! But, I am homesick for a specific house which is about a half hour away from where I live now. It was the most perfect house ever on the most perfect piece of property ever, and I have the most perfect memories from that house filled with friends and good food. I'm homesick for that!

I've felt homesick before. I've lived my whole life in Illionis and then I moved to Louisiana. It was a totally different climate and the environment was a huge contrast from Illionis. I was depressed, having to go through the long process if fitting in and getting used to Louisiana. I'm happy I moved back to Illinois though. :D

I grew up in the big city and now live in a small rural town. There are times I miss the hustle and bustle and I especially miss the culture. However, I'm not sure I'd ever want to live there again, but I do enjoy visiting.

Yes, my heart aches for Brown County, including Nashville, IN. I now live in Northern Texas which is pretty flat. In Brown County, the hills twist, turn and roll with gorgeous autumn oranges, reds and yellows on the trees and roadside markets to buy enormous cantaloupes, sweet apples, cider and so much delicious produce. There is also folklore abundant and same draw that drew my great grandfather to that area. I have been back several times but I always miss it so much when I in Texas.

I grew up in Long Beach, Ca and at times really miss the beach at night. I lived in the sun and now have an allergy to it so the night walking is really beautiful there. Of course times change and things are never the same, but the night is still beautiful. Thanks for the opportunity to win the giveaway.

I grew up in south Texas on the beach and often feel homesick for living in a beach community. Now I only live about 300 miles from my hometown so it's easy for me to visit every now and then but sometimes you wish the beach was just out the window like it used to be! Thank you for the giveaway.

I was born in Hamilton, Ontario and had to move at 12 to Nova Scotia with my parents. It was the hardest move I have made. Starting over, making new friends, learning new ways... it was too much. I was so utterly homesick for home I couldn't take it and left home young. I came right back to Hamilton, and have been home ever since. I can honestly say I won't ever leave again too.

The only place I ever really miss is the beach. I love the ocean and hope to one day own a retirement home right on the beach. I lived in Pismo Beach for awhile and when I return, I kick myself for moving back inland. But I love my house because I have lots of windows and a beautiful yard with big oak trees, private deck, etc. And I see the ocean when I make business trips to the coast or go on pleasure trips that are usually a beach destination. So I'm pretty content!
