Guest stop with Courtney Rene, Author of Shadow Dancer!

Welcome to today's tour stop for Courtney Rene's Shadow Dancer. Courtney stopped by today with two of her main characters in tote- Sunny and Leigh. They will be answering my "this or that" questions. Enjoy!

 SHADOW DANCER
BY COURTNEY RENE

Sunny has a gift that she has no idea how to use, until she meets Leif, a boy from the kingdom of Acadia, on the other side of the shadows.

Leif teaches Sunny about Shadow Walkers and how to use her new found gifts. As they grow closer and their gifts grow stronger, a threat arrives. The Shadow Guard has been sent to bring Sunny back to Acadia, to determine if she is a threat to the king as the rightful ruler of Acadia.

As Leif and Sunny prepare to defend themselves, Sunny finds that Leif has also been sent to bring Sunny back to the kingdom but for very different reasons. As a battle for possession of Sunny wages, she is struggling to come to turns with her feelings of inadequacy regarding controlling her gifts as well as the hurt regarding the lies and deceit of everyone around her.

1.    Superpower for a day: Invisibility or Mind Control- which do you pick?

Sunny:  Well, I can be invisible any ole day, so I think Mind Control.
Leif:  Definitely mind control.  Think of all that you could accomplish.  You wouldn’t have to talk anyone into doing anything. You could just make them do it and save yourself the time and the trouble.

2.    Flying or Road Trip in the Car?

Sunny:  Road Trip.  That would be the best.  Think of all the things you could see and do while on your way.
Leif:  Flying.  I don’t want to waste my time in the car to just get to my destination.  I want to get where I am going, not see crap along the way.

3.    The first line of a book or the last line?

Sunny:  The First.  It sets up the story, the people, or the events.
Leif:  The last.  I want to know how it ends.

4.    Know it all or Have it all?

Sunny:  Know it all.  Knowledge is power right?
Leif:  Have it all.

5. Outlining or Free-write?

Sunny:  Free-write.  I want to just let the story form and take me on a journey.  You never know where it will end until you get there.  That’s part of the fun.
Leif:  Plan it out completely.  Definite outline.  Not detours that way.

6. Online book shopping or brick & mortar browsing?

Sunny:  Both!  I love to just browse on line sometimes, see what’s new and exciting.  But then I also like to go into an actual story and touch the books and read the backs and see the covers.
Leif:  Brick and Mortar.  I want to hold in my hand what I am purchasing.  Own what I am purchasing.

7. Favorite books to read: Adult or YA?

Sunny:  YA  I’m a teen after all.
Leif:  Adult.

8. Favorite writing time: Day or Night?

Sunny:  Night.  The world is quite then.  I can think without all the outside interruptions.
Leif:  Day.  Morning to be exact.  If I have to complete something, I want to sit down and get it done.  Not wait all day to find the time after the sun sets.

9. Sleeping in or Get up and get going?

Sunny:  Sleeping in.
Leif:  Get up and get going.  No time like the present.

10. Who would be worse to cross paths with: werewolf or vampire?

Sunny:  Vampire.  They are more evil, right?  Right?
Leif:  Werewolf.  They don’t get to control their disease.  It controls them.  I wouldn’t want to lose control like that.  Vampires are what they are all the time.  You know what to expect from yourself if you are a Vampire.
